General Information

Deadline for submission of applications:

New students at the university: July 25 to August 11, 2009

University students: 1 to September 17, 2009

It is considered the date of application for scholarship:

* For delivery attendance, the day of filing the documentation record (Gran Vía, 20 28013 Madrid)
* In the case of mailing, the application and accompanying documentation will be submitted in an unsealed envelope in order to seal the header is the same, according to the provisions of art. 31 of Royal Decree 1829/1999 of 3 December, which approves the regulation governing the provision of postal services. Order

Order No. 3440 / 2009, dated 20 July, the Minister of Education, which approves the regulatory basis of Excellence Scholarship to study at the universities of Madrid and are convened for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Object

These scholarships are intended to facilitate the development of the post-graduate students with excellent academic achievement in economic conditions of independence, for which purpose such persons may freely allocate the funds provided to pay for their own maintenance.

Recipients

1. Students who are enrolled in a university official teachings of the Community of Madrid and its affiliated centers during the academic year for each call.
2. May, for once, to grants covered by this Order, those students wishing to enroll in the first year of the new studies in the Degree or Diploma, Master, Technical Engineering or Technical Architect, Engineer or Architect, or graduates in any of the universities of Madrid and its affiliated centers

Exclusion criteria

* Excluded from the scope of this order to the third cycle estudioscorrespondientes or graduate (masters or doctorate) specialized courses and degrees from the universities themselves.
* Excluded from the scope of this order except graduate students who hold a junior college or untítulo Diploma, Technical Architect Technical oIngeniero studies yaccedan to be a direct continuation of the first cycle or not yet being then direct access is permitted from the studies. All these students are treated as college students, and shall evaluate the average of the last course completed.

Submission of Applications

* Applications will be directed to the Directorate General for Universities and Research and presented, preferably, in the Register of the Ministry of Education (Gran Vía, number 20, 28013 Madrid.) Or any of the procedures in the art. 38.4 of Law 30/1992 of 26 November on the Legal Regime of Public Administrations and Common Administrative Procedure

Requirements of Applicants

* Being able to enroll in lessons taught by university officials of the Community of Madrid and its affiliated centers in the next year. The freshmen, must formalize their enrollment in the statutory time limit for its university, and be admitted to a university in the Madrid or one of its affiliated centers.
* Have obtained in the present course an average less than that provided in Article 7, except as provided in Article 6.1.d of these rules.

Those interested should accompany your application the following documents in original or certified copy support, certified or verified:

2. General requirements:
1. The application form must be accompanied by a photocopy of passport (citizens of European Union countries except Spanish), or green card (other nationalities) in force. The Department of Education automatically verify the validity of the ID of the applicant through online consultation of the Ministry of Public Administration does not require bringing in this document. Only need to record the ID number on the application form
2. Accreditation of the applicant in the circumstances foreseen in these regulatory basis and do not fall in the cases provided for in art. 13 of Law 38/2003 of 17 November, General Grant. It must provide an affidavit stating whether or not to have been obtained other grants or scholarships for the same purpose, noting, where appropriate, the amount thereof. This is in accordance with the declaration form contained in Annex II of this order
3. Aid applicants are exempted from demonstrating compliance of tax obligations and against Social Security. Depending on the nature of the assistance, that exemption is produced by application of Article 13.2 of Law 38/2003, General Grant, and by analogy to the provisions of Article 13.1) of Order 2532 / 1998, Sept. 29, the Director of Finance
3. New students at the university:
1. Pupils test university entrance: certification card selectivity when the applicant has passed the entrance examination to the call for universidadtanto previous courses and in the final call.
2. Students from higher-level training course or equivalent: official academic record showing where the average, calculated to two decimal places, issued by the Secretary of the center who has taught the last academic year, according to the model attached as Annex I in the relevant call .
3. Students over 25 years: certification test for university admission for students over 25 years.
4. Students enrolled in university education:
1. The official academic record will be applied automatically by the Directorate General for Universities and Research to the respective university which shall include the average to two decimal places obtained by the student as well as meeting the registration and examination requirements established in the Article 6.2 of the order.

Endowment

The first payment for half of the scholarship, will be made once accredited by the universities before enrollment of stakeholders in the terms of Article 18.a).

Scholarship winners Tiana Veldwisch & Darren Gallant This first installment will advance the concept has not requiring prior authorization by the Ministry of Finance, in accordance with the provisions, if any, in the current Budget Law for each call.

The second payment for the remainder of the scholarship shall be awarded in the following year, once carried out and certified collaborative activities that are described below:

* Students must have completed at least fifty hours of dedication over the course referred to the announcement in a research project or task of teaching support.
