Why do Some Filipinos refused to be called Asian. A Filipino girl told me she classifies as Pacific Islander or Hispanic. She even applied for an Hispanic Scholarship under the pretense that she is Hispanic, although both her parents are from the Phillipines and she speaks Tagalog and not Spanish? She also looks very Asian (Chinese, Thai) but she refuses to be classified as Asian.
